Blue-light Training of Trainers workshop opening


A three day Blue-light Training of Trainers workshop was opened on Wednesday 16th July 2025 by the Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Kasiano Vusonilawe, with the intent of assisting community Policing Officers with youth empowerment programs.

Facilitated by New Zealand Blue Light, the empowerment workshop will assist community policing officers develop programs providing young people with positive lifestyle alternatives and strategies to avoid becoming an offender or victim of crime.

“This workshop is not just about training trainers; it is about building bridges between the police and our communities, especially our youth.

It is an opportune time for all participants to internalise this intent and carry it forward in your respective divisions,” said ACP Vusonilawe.

“I encourage you all to actively engage, learn from our New Zealand colleagues, and share your own experiences.

Let us work together to ensure that the Blue Light program continues to have a positive impact across Fiji.” The workshop concludes tomorrow.
