UPLIFT program supported by the Australian Federal Police

The momentum on the implementation of the Fiji Police UPLIFT program supported by the Australian Federal Police is growing, with a visit by senior AFP Assistant Commissioner Pacific Nigel Ryan to the Fiji Police Force this morning.

The UPLIFT program is a reform initiative aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness of the Fiji Police Force with the overarching intent of enhancing public trust and confidence.

The Program is anchored on pillars focused on harnessing leadership, human resources, operational capabilities and enablers, ethics and integrity and communications.

ACP Ryan commended the FPF for the work done since the initial draft was presented in April 2025, and subsequent follow up meetings conducted in Fiji and in Australia.

ACP Ryan assured the FPF of the AFP’s support in providing practical guidance on the implementation phases, adding they were ready to advance work between the two organisations through the appointed Project Managers and their AFP liaisons.

Fiji's Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu conveyed the FPF's appreciation to Fiji's vuvale partner in backing the organisational need to conduct the comprehensive internal uplift focused on restoring public trust and confidence.

ACP Ryan will be visiting other Units and will meet the Minister of Policing Honourable Ioane Naivalurua tomorrow.
