Courtesy visit by PICP Chair


We had the honour and privilege of hosting the Chair of the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police and Tonga's Police Commissioner Shane McLennan at Police Headquarters this morning.

Commissioner McLennan was accorded a quarter guard ceremony of welcome as the occasion marked his first visit to Police HQ.

He was accompanied by PICP Executive Director Nicholas Brown and senior officials from the Office of Special Investigations Colonel Benjamin Hatch, Michael Bryant and Jason Ritchie.

Welcoming Commissioner McLennan to the Fiji Police Headquarters was the Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police (A/DCP) Sakeo Raikaci, Assistant Commissioner of Police – Internal Affairs, Professional Standards (ACP) Sakeo Ganivatu and Director International Relations, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ulaiasi Ravula.

The PICP Chair was given a tour of the FPF’s International Relations Cell, consisting of the Pacific Community for Law Enforcement Cooperation (PCLEC) Fiji Chapter, supporting capability development in law enforcement priority via a by the Pacific for the Pacific approach.

During the meeting, the PICP Chair reiterated the regional body’s efforts in having the collective voices of all 22 Pacific Chiefs of Police heard on issues, where policing was expected to play a lead role in ensuring a safe and secure Pacific community.

The Acting Deputy Commissioner said the Fiji Police Force will render all necessary support towards the PICP Chair during his tenure, adding Fiji Police officers continue to actively participate in PICP affiliated programs, bolstering regional efforts in making our blue pacific safer for all. ?????????????????????? ???????? ???????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
