Easter Police Ops

Expect increased Police presence from today ahead of the Easter long weekend.

The Fiji Police Force will heighten operations leading up to the long weekekd in anticipation of increased movement before and during the Easter break.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu said the intent is to assist members of the communities develop a sense of safety and security awareness heading into the weekend.

The head of Police Operations said operations are gearing towards the Drua matches Easter services, Easter processions, sporting tournaments, picnics and other social activities expected to take place this weekend.

Members of the public can expect snap traffic check points on our roads, and police deployment to popular picnic spots.

"Safety and vigilance is paramount as complacency can lead to accidents".
