Unfortunate accident claimed a child's life

An 11-year-old child died after he was allegedly electrocuted on Thursday.

Divisional Police Commander West (DPC/W), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Iakobo Vaisewa said the unfortunate incident occurred at Moala Village in Nadi on Thursday night.

The victim was playing in their backyard when he was electrocuted by a live wire. He was rushed to the Nadi Hospital but was unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival.

Investigations continue. Parents and guardians are again reminded to monitor their children’s activities at all times, to avoid such unfortunate accidents.
