The Police Mobile Force (PMF) family had their annual awards last Friday night.
Commanding Officer (CO/PMF) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Luke Rogoyawa reminded everyone in attendance on the complexity of today's modern policing.
"Policing has become more challenging, complex and diverse as emphasis has shifted from the traditional role of crime prevention and investigation to a more pro-active role through the community policing initiatives," said SSP Rogoyawa.
To fulfill a wide variety of roles, SSP Rogoyawa said policing has become a lot more demanding and dangerous.
The CO thanked all those who organized the event stating that the awards night helps them recognize the loyalty of officers of all ranks.
"These shared values are part of the twine that binds us together as a family while the future environment for policing will continue to challenge us."
SSP Rogoyawa has called on everyone to work together to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of PMF.
