Community Policing Workshop

First empowerment workshop this year for Community Policing Officers in the Eastern Policing Division.

The one day empowerment workshop was organized by the Divisional Manager for Community Policing Eastern (DMCP/E) Superintendent of Police (SP) Koro Lesikimaloku in an effort to empower community policing officers on his strategic direction for this year.

Director for Community Policing, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Salanieta Radaniva congratulated the division and acknowledged their efforts in organizing such workshop in order to change Public’s Perception towards policing.

“It is true understanding that Police cannot do it alone but must build relationship with the community in order to solve community problems. Crime is also a community problem, not just a Police problem,” said SSP Salanieta.

The workshop will also allow Community Post Officers to discuss their way forward and to map out their plans for the next three months.

The Director reminded participants that the more involvement they will have with the communities, the more the communities can assist them achieve their goals.
