Progress Report

Progress Report; Selai Talei, a 16 year old student of Tamavua- i- Wai has been located and has been reunited with her family.

Ms Talei was reported missing from home since 28th December, 2023.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACPO) Livai Driu said most young people are usually reported missing because they don’t inform their loved ones on their whereabouts.

“They go visiting friends or relatives and they decide to spend a day or two there without informing anyone. They also don’t realize that their individual families are worried about them so they lodge a missing person report. They only realize that they are reported missing once their report goes up on social media,” said ACP Driu.

The Fiji Police Force is calling on all parents to continue to talk to their children on the importance of communication of their whereabouts at all times.

“With almost everyone walking around carrying a phone, please do inform your loved on your whereabouts with a simple text or call.”
