Missing at Sea

Four people are missing at sea after they failed to return from a fishing trip last night.

Missing are Sainivalati Waqa (20), Jone Qoro (18) Aisake Talili (12) and Ledua Taina Uluilakeba (32) of Yanuca Island.

The four left out yesterday afternoon in a 23ft Fibre glass boat with a 40HP Yamaha outboard engine intact to the boat and were due to return in the evening.

The villagers has already made a search at sea whereby two boats left out this morning and came back during lunch time with negative results.

Another search session at sea will take place this afternoon depending on the weather.

Police are working closely with the villagers in search efforts as the weather at sea is unfavorable at the moment.

Police are also calling on communities along the coastal areas of Lami to Sigatoka to be on a look out to sea for the missing boat.

Unfortunately, the four people missing do not have any mobile phone with them.
