Combine Church Service

In a show of unity and acceptance, a combined thanksgiving service was held with members of the senior command of the Fiji Police Force and the Fiji Corrections Service earlier this week.

The sounds of popular Christmas carols filled Police headquarters as the Fiji Corrections Service Choir, composed of FCS Officers and inmates, performed during the service.

The annual initiative is part of the Yellow Ribbon community based approach developed to enhance the successful integration of inmates.

The Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew extended the organization's appreciation to the Acting Commissioner of Corrections Salote Panapasa, for the initiative in spreading Christmas joy to the FPF during the busy period of operations.

A/CP Chew, reflecting on the working partnership between the two institutions, said with Christmas being a time of thanksgiving the FPF is grateful for a year of collaboration and cooperation with their Corrections comrades.

Echoing similar sentiments was the Acting Commissioner Corrections, who said the both organizations had overcome and endured challenges, but continue to forge on, adding that the Thanksgiving service was a way to come together to strengthen associations and give thanks for a year that has been fruitful for all.
