Western Celebrate Diwali
“In the spirit of Diwali, let us renew our commitment to protect and serve all the people of Fiji”.
This was the Diwali message shared by the Deputy Director Legal, Acting Superintendent of Police (A/SP) Mohammed Harif to officers based at the Western Division Headquarters and Lautoka Police Station during their Diwali celebrations held yesterday.
A/SP Harif said at the core of Diwali celebrations was the message of victory of good over evil, which should serve as a reminder to all police officers of the need to uphold the integrity of the policing profession.
“Diwali, at its core, symbolizes the victory of good over evil. It reminds us of the timeless values that guide us as police officers – justice, integrity and compassion. Like the different colours that shine through Diwali, we, too represent a vibrant tapestry of culture, backgrounds and beliefs”.
“This is the time to strengthen the bonds of trust between the police and communities we serve. Let us strive to be an organization that upholds fairness, equality, and justice for all”.
