Funeral of Late Corporal Prasad


The Acting Commissioner of Police Sakeo Raikaci, Assistant Commissioners, Divisional Police Commanders, Directors and members of the Fiji Police Force paid their last respects to the family of the late Corporal Navindra Prasad today.

The fallen officer was called to eternal rest on the 6th of November at the age of 47-years, and was a few days shy of celebrating his 23 years of service as he had been enlisted on the 16th of November 2000.

During his years of service, Cpl Prasad had successfully completed a number of courses which included mandatory Qualifying Courses, Docket Preparation Workshop, Crime Decree Workshop, Forensic Awareness Workshop, CID Qualifying, FBI Interviewing and Advanced Interview Technique and Customer Service Workshop.

The late officer had served in Labasa, Raiwaqa, Totogo, Nausori and at the Border Police when he was called to rest.

Delivering the Force eulogy was the Officer in Charge of the Nausori District, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Matelita Daveta, who said Corporal Prasad's years of service was marked by unwavering commitment, professionalism, and a strong sense of duty, which made him a highly respected and valued member of the police community.

ASP Daveta said the late officer was hardworking with an exceptional level of experience and was a valuable asset to the Fiji Police Force.

She said his work ethic, reliability, and unwavering commitment to upholding the law set an example for others to follow.

Also in attendance was the Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Honourable Professor Biman Prasad who acknowledged the Fiji Police Force for a farewell? befitting an officer that he personally knew to be humble and had immense respect for his elders, and was a family oriented officer.

The late officer is survived by his wife and daughter.
