Senior CID Managers Meeting

A two day Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Senior Managers Meeting is being held at the Eastern Division Training Room at the Nakasi Police Station.

With the theme, Strengthening Capabilities to Enhance Investigation, the two day meeting is being attended by Divisional Crime Officers, CID Managers and Supervisors overseeing the conduct of investigations at the Station levels.

Opening the meeting was the Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police (A/DCP) Sakeo Raikaci who said, “Over the next two days, you will hear the raw and unfiltered truth about our work, from our regional partners, Australian Federal Police and New Zealand Police and defense counsels, who will allow us to see things from their respective".

The two day meeting aims to address shortfalls in the conduct and handling of investigations.

“Humble yourselves. Many of you are seasoned investigators, having served decades in CID, but you need to look at things from a neutral perspective. You may not like what you’ll hear, but need to take everything as constructive criticism.”

At the end of the training, participants will discuss the root causes of some of the issues highlighted and map the way forward.

The two day meeting includes all Crime Officers from Police Stations around Fiji and Divisional Crime Officers from the Five Policing Divisions.
