“Discipline is an important aspect of life”.
This was the main message by the Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew while delivering his official address during the Saint Thomas High School Pass Out Parade yesterday.
The Pass Out Parade was held after a lapse of three years due to the Covid pandemic.
The Acting Commissioner acknowledged the students for their dedication and perseverance as the outcome has been a success that all should be proud of.
He urged the students to maintain the values and lessons taught to them, as it would assist in their decision making.
"Self-discipline is the gift that God gave us so we can make our own decisions. It’s simple, whatever path you choose in life, whether it’s wrong or right, that decision is yours to make. But remember, the decisions you make will not only impact your lives, but your parents and families."
Students were also reminded to never take their parents and guardians for granted and appreciate the efforts made in their upbringing.
The Acting Commissioner also thanked parents and guardians for their love and support.
"Our Children are our most precious gifts from God and we must ensure that they are protected from all sorts of harm, whether it’s physical or emotional. No matter how difficult they can become, remember that they are still our children and they need our continuous support and guidance".
“We, as parents, cannot exempt ourselves from our divine duty and expect to raise well-rounded children. We need to work together with the teachers and other stakeholders to ensure that our children are being guided onto the right path in life”.
The Head of Police has called on everyone to work together with the teachers and other stakeholders to ensure that children are guided onto the right path. Congratulations to the Awards recipients;
