Women officers from the five policing divisions gathered in Nausori for their two day annual Inter-formation Netball and Volleyball tournament.
At the end of the tournament, the teams to represent the Fiji Police Force in the 2023 Ratu Sukuna Netball and Volleyball Tournaments against the Republic of Fiji Military Forces will be selected.
Officiating the opening this morning at Ratu Cakobau Park was the Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations and Fiji Police Ratu Sukuna Organising Committee Chairman ACP Livai Driu, who called on the women officers to play to their full potential so as to achieve the intent of winning and dominating at this year’s tournament.
“Today is another day to prove yourselves so you can be selected to represent the organization during the Ratu Sukuna Competition. We are the current holders of the prestigious Ratu Sukuna Bowl and we wish to win it again this year, so work together towards a common goal and let's accomplish this mission together”, he added.
The head of the Fiji Police Operations also used the opportunity to thank the women officers and their families for their contribution to policing.
“I take this time to thank you and your respective families for your contribution to Operations in the last financial year. Our collective effort is evident with the reduction in the crime rate having achieved most of the KPI’s”, he said.
ACP Driu encouraged the players to work as a team and also took time to thank the organizing committee. Meanwhile, the Southern Netball team were able to defended the Mrs. Commissioner’s Cup Challenge beating Central Division by 22- 13.
