The Assistant Commissioner of Operations (ACP) Livai Driu and Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ulaiasi Tamanisau recently attended the Joint Heads of Pacific Security (JHoPS) meeting which brought together Pacific security leaders to address common challenges, focusing on strengthening information sharing and interoperability domestically and regionally.
Hosted by the Government of Palau, the JHoPs meeting was convened to strengthen cooperation and information sharing through existing mechanisms and law enforcement bodies.
With Pacific security forces already working together through various collaborative means, JHoPs 2023 was intended to develop greater understanding of regional interoperability and practical means of working together to achieve a peaceful, safe and secure Blue Pacific region.
ACP Driu and ASP Tamanisau were part of the Fijian delegation which consisted of the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Major General Jone Kalouniwai, Fiji Revenue and Customs Service Acting Director Shelini Devi and Director Fiji Immigration Department Amelia Komaisavai, Captain Peni Nabukelevu and Border Compliance and Operations Head and Chief Customs Officer Winston Rounds ACP Driu also met the Palau Vice President and Minister for Justice Jerrlyn Uduch Sengebau Senior and Director Bureau of Customs and Border Protection John Tarkong Jnr.
