Funeral Service of Late PC SERU


The Assistant Commissioner of Police, Internal Affairs and Professional Standards (ACP) Sakeo Ganivatu led a Police delegation to pay their last respects to the family of the late Police Constable Samisoni Seru who was called to eternal rest on the 19th of August in Suva.

The Commissioner’s reguregu was accorded to the fallen officer’s family at their residence in Tamavua followed by the Homecoming service at the Tamavua Methodist Church.

The late PC Seru was enlisted as a member of the Special Constabulary on the 30th of April 2010 and absorbed into the Regular cadre on the 2nd of June 2020.

He had served at the Totogo and Valelevu Police Stations and was a member of the Southern Division Prisoners Management Team at the time he was called to rest.

Delivering the Fiji Police’s eulogy was the Divisional Manager Community Policing (DMCP) Superintendent of Police (SP) Ruci Nasemira who spoke about PC Seru’s commitment and dedication to his life of service.

The late officer who was described as a quiet achiever was also known for his sense-of-humour and wittiness, and his ability to make light of a tense situation.

SP Nasemira paid special tribute to the late officer’s family for supporting their father’s work and allowing him to serve his country and people dutifully.

The late PC Seru was laid to rest at the Police burial grounds at the Nasinu Cemetery in Nakasi.

He is survived by his wife Siteri Wati and their four children, Luisa Raico, Rupeni Tamanikaiyaroi, Marika Rua and Mosese Vakanava.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
