UN DEPLOYMENT

The Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew this morning welcomed Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sunil Prakash Chand after successfully completing his tour of duty with the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA).

The Acting Commissioner also met and farewelled ASP Timoci Saqanivalu who will take over from ASP Chand.

The Acting Commissioner thanked ASP Chand for his contribution towards the UN mission, where he put his experience from the Academy to good use, taking up the role of training officer during his tour of duty.

ASP Chand said he looks forward to spending more time with his family while he takes leave before resuming work.

Acting Commissioner Chew while wishing ASP Saqanivalu well, reminded him of the importance of being part of a mission tour in that he was representing Fiji in UNISFA and not only the Fiji Police Force.

ASP Saqanivalu departs on Sunday and says he is honored to be given the opportunity adding he is looking forward to serving under the UNISFA banner.
