The Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration Mr. Mason Smith, paid a courtesy visit to the Fiji Police Headquarters this morning and met with the Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew and members of the senior command group.
Mr. Smith acknowledged the work carried out by the organisation and assured them of the Ministry’s continued assistance and support.
"On behalf of our Minister and the Ministry we sincerely appreciate the commendable work done by the officers on the ground, and we will continue to support the force in terms of daily operations and administration to provide better service to Fijians and visitors," he said.
"I will find time to visit the respective policing division as well just to see our hardworking officers and at the same time thank them for their dedication and commitment", he added.
The Acting Commissioner of Police Chew thanked the Ministry for the support rendered and acknowledged the courtesy visit to Police Headquarters.
The Permanent Secretary was provided a Strategic Overview Brief of the Fiji Police Force.
