Family, friends and comrades of the late Special Constable Bimal So gathered to bid farewell to the fallen officer who was remembered for his dedication and loyalty to service.
Leading the Fiji Police Force delegation in paying their last respects to the late officer’s family at the Brethren Mission (Fiji) Gospel Churches of Fiji Sabeto camp, was the Assistant Commissioner of Police – Internal Affairs & Professional Standards (ACP) Sakeo Ganivatu.
The late Bimal So was enlisted into the Force on the 12th May 1999, and had served in Lautoka at Lomolomo and later to the Vuda Community Post when he was called to eternal rest on the 17th of August 2023.
Whilst he was given an opportunity to undergo the Basic Recruits Course, health issues got in the way, and he returned to serving his beloved Lautoka community as a Special Constable.
Delivering the Force’s eulogy was the Officer in Charge of the Lautoka Police District, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Meli Balekinakorovatu who recalled the fallen officer’s commitment to service, even during this last few days whilst sick in hospital.
ASP Baleinakorovatu said SC So’s religious conviction could be seen through the conduct of his work, as he was loyal, disciplined, willing to accept responsibilities and was committed to his work and family.
The late officer is survived by his wife and three children.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
