Duavata vanua based partnerships in action


The Honorable Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka officiated the opening of the Bua Provincial council yesterday morning in Nabouwalu.

Also attending the meeting was the Assistant Commissioner of Police - Planning, Research & Doctrine, (ACP) Aporosa Lutunauga who used the platform to address the crime rate for the Bua Province which ranked the lowest compared to the other two Provinces in the North.

ACP Lutunauga brought to the table the vanua's role on working with Police with regards to the sharing of information and the reporting of any and all illegal activities ACP Lutunauga also requested the members to work with Police in the war against drugs as students were being found in schools with drugs namely marijuana.

ACP Lutunauga said Duavata Community Policing places great emphasis on the vanua as being an important pillar towards crime prevention efforts, playing an important role in the maintenanceof law and order.

He also revealed that a proposed community Post was earmarked for Daria, and sought the support of the vanua to assist in terms of land & accommodation.

ACP Lutunauga's presentation was acknowledged and appreciated by the members of the council.
