Communication is key

As students begin their much deserved break this Friday, we are calling on parents and guardians to strengthen communication with their children.

Over the 2 week holidays be sure to;

1) Establish a check-in time where they need to let you know where they are and who they're with during certain times of the day, particularly if you're at work.

2) Establish contacts with their friends parents and guardians and get to know who their friends are.

3) Talk to them regularly about issues of safety and life in general. They're young and need constant guidance and counseling.

4) Encourage two way communication where they can come to you if they have questions about issues and promote having a safe space where they can share their problems without being judged or have fear of getting into trouble We encourage ommunication because children need to know that its OK to talk about issues when in doubt, so they can make well informed decisions.
