Third Day of Northern Tour

During the third day of his official tour of the Northern Division Police Stations and Community Posts, the Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration Hon. Pio Tikoduadua reassured Police officers of Government's support towards improving police working conditions.

The Honourable Minister visited the Korotasere, Saqani and Wainikoro Community Police Posts as well as the Labasa Police Station and the Northern Division Command Centre.

The Hon. Minister after being briefed by officers based at the three Community Posts commended them for their commitment and loyalty whilst serving in the remote rural areas.

Minister Tikoduadua said Government has the political will to make the Fiji Police Force independent and called on the officers to assist the Acting Commissioner in reverting back to the blue culture, and back to the FPF the public knows and trusts.

"You are guided by your own code of conduct and should be distinctly proud of it. The Government has the political will to make the Fiji Police Force independent as it should be, where it is answerable to the law and the law alone".

The Hon. Minister also thanked the community members present for supporting the work of police officers based in rural communities.
