Force Easter Service

Members of the Fiji Police Force gathered this morning at the Police Special Response Unit for the Force Easter Service.

The Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew acknowledged the support of the officers and their efforts towards policing during the organisation's transitional period.

Acting Commissioner Chew said, “Easter is a season to re-evaluate the value of our lives as frontline responders, our roles as custodians of the rule of law as it comes with huge responsibilities and expectations likened to that of a shepherd”.

“A shepherds role is to watch over his flock throughout the night and guard against possible any enemy attack, a sobering truth of the responsibilities we have as police officers despite the adversities we may encounter during our watch”.

Acting Commissioner Chew went on to say, “Our roles should be a demonstration of sacrifice and integrity in the face of adversities motivated by a selfless approach. I urge you all to reflect on your individual performance, remain firm in the core roles and functions of the FPF, especially in the delivery of police functions and services”.

The Acting Commissioner wished all members of the organization serving in Fiji and abroad and their families a Blessed Easter.

Officers from the five policing Divisions were represented at the Force Easter Service.

Also in attendance were the members of the Basic Recruits Course Batch 65 including officers from the Nauru Police Force and Tuvalu police service.
