Search efforts are underway for a 25-year-old man in waters near Rabi Island.

The 25-year-old from Tabewa Village had accompanied his father on a fishing trip yesterday and whilst returning to land they encountered rough seas, causing their canoe to capsize.

The victim's 49-year-old father managed to swim safely to shore and alerted other villagers whereby search efforts were activated.
