International Women’s Day (IWD)

As part of the buildup to the International Women’s Day (IWD) tomorrow, with the theme #EmbraceEquity, the Station Officer for Nabouwalu Police Station Inspector of Police (IP) Sainimili Vakatale says all girls and women should seize every opportunity to progress in life.

“Challenges are what makes life interesting, overcoming those challenges is what makes life meaningful” she said.

“So whatever opportunities come your way, seize it and make it yours,” she added.

Originally from Yavu village in Batiki in the Lomaiviti group, IP Vakatale has served 27 years in the Fiji Police Force.

She is the first female officer appointed Station Sergeant at the Seaqaqa Police Station and the first female Inspector to hold the post of Station Officer Nabouwalu.

Educated at Ballantine Memorial School, IP Vakatale has completed all her Police Qualifying Courses and Promotional Exams, and she was a recipient of the Long Service Medal in 2020.

“I want to encourage all women out there, as long as they have a positive mindset and put their hearts into it, they can overcome whatever hurdles that come their way,” she said.
