Sharing her thoughts on this year’s IWD theme, Mrs Malumatana said, “Education is important, because it equips you to take on leadership roles in any organization,” she said.
Mrs Malumatana is originally from Viwa village in Tailevu and has served 34-years in the organization.
The 54-year-old, mother of 5, joined the Fiji Police Force as a Temporary Clerical Officer in the Accounts Department in 1988.
The following year, she was offered a permanent position.
She said in the last few years of her service in the Accounts Department, she has seen a lot of changes.
“It used to be a lot of male officers in this department but in the past few years there has been a change with a lot more women now joining the team,” she said.
“The important thing is education, if you pursue it until your complete it you can go far in the field you wish to work in,” she added.
