International Women’s Day (IWD) 


By #EmbracingEquity the Post Officer for Wainibokasi Community Post, Corporal (Cpl) Kelera Tara Masau says she strives to ensure the safety of officers under her supervision everyday.

The 36-year-old mother of 4, said, “There are 10 police officers based here at the Wainibokasi Post, 3 female officers and 7 male officers. I make sure that when I put up the deployment for the officers that they work in teams and look after one another during their shift,” Cpl Masau said.

Originally from Naceva Village in Beqa, Cpl Masau was recently transferred to Wainibokasi after she was the Post Officer for Muaniweni Community Post from 2019. 

She has served at the Nabua, Valelevu, and Nausori Police Stations. She joined the Fiji Police Force in 2005 as a Special Constable and underwent basic recruit training in 2011.

“Sometimes police work can be dangerous but rewarding. If you do your work honestly and serve the people diligently then you will find it ti be a rewarding profession".

“By embracing equity in my manpower deployment, I make sure that the safety of those under my supervision is considered all the time,” she added.
