Suva Rugby promotes crime awareness messages

The Suva Police Rugby team will be promoting two important crime prevention awareness messages during the 2023 season.

Using sports as a platform to spread awareness on crime prevention has proven successful with the formation of crime prevention partnership groups the sharing of information through various sports such as rugby, netball, volleyball, touch rugby, soccer and cricket to name a few.

And it’s partnerships through business communities that enable Policing sporting teams to expand its community policing initiatives.

Ahead of their 2023 campaign, the STOP CYBER BULLYING and CRIME PREVENTION, IS EVERYBODY'S BUSINESS Police Rugby team took time to acknowledge one of their sponsors Managing Director Mr. Shiv Nand Sharma for supporting the team’s efforts.

Mr Sharma said Fiji is known in the world because of rugby, and today, we're happy that we positively contributed not only towards that but also our small contribution towards nation building.

Club Secretary Sergeant Livai Toribau thanked Mr Sharma for supporting Police’s efforts in strengthening community police partnerships.
