Adhere to Advisories

As the Fiji Meteorological Service forecasts more rain for some parts of the country, we are again pleading with members of the public to take necessary safety precautionary measures at all times.

Chief Operations Officer (COO) Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police (A/ACP) Livai Driu is reiterating the call following the death of a 35-year-old farmer of Naiyalayala, Taveuni after he was swept away whilst trying to cross the Naiyalayala River yesterday afternoon with another 25-year-old farmer.

The victim’s body was recovered this morning.

A/ACP Driu is calling on members of the public to listen to the weather advisories as alerts and warnings are issued as a proactive measure for people to make decisions for the sake of their safety.
