Heavy Rain alert

The Weather office in Nadi has issued a heavy rain alert in most parts of the country and flash flooding in low lying areas.

Chief Operations Officer Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Livai Driu said as rain is forecasted to affect most of the Fiji group, parents and guardians are advised to strictly monitor their children’s movement as children are highly likely to play and swim in flooded areas.

Motorists are advised to drive with precaution and maintain safe distance between your cars because, the risk of collision increases during rains due to slick roads, less visibility.

An active trough of low pressure lies slow moving to the west of Fiji, with associated rain bands continues to affect the Fiji Group.
