One hundred and one Police officers have passed the United Nations Selection Assistance and Assessment Team Tests (SAAT) making them eligible for deployment for United Nations missions.
The assessment for mission service addresses language skills, driving skills, computer skills, knowledge of United Nations principles and standards, core values, and mission-specific skills.
Conducting the test was Mr Denis Tikhomirov from the United Nations Police Selection and Recruitment Division from November 25th to the 1st of December.
Mr Tikhomirov met with the Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho earlier this week and commended the Fiji Police Force’s level of preparedness for the tests.
The investment directed towards the training of the officers was evident in that an 85% pass rate was attained, whereby 101 officers are ready for deployment to UN missions when required.
The Commissioner of Police in thanking Mr Tikhomirov said the FPF through the Humanitarian and Emergency Support Unit (HESU) headed by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mohammed Hanif had conducted a series of SAAT awareness tests in the lead up to last week’s tests.
Brigadier General Qiliho said the preparatory work conducted by ASP Hanif and team resulted in the successful outcome adding the Fiji Police is intent on sharing the same knowledge with regional countries.
