The Chief Operations Officer (COO) Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abdul Khan’s Western Division Send Off Parade was held this afternoon in Nadovu Park, Lautoka.
Addressing more than 560 Police officers, the Chief Operations Officer said with pre-polling only a few days away, demands on operations for Election related duties and routine operations will increase.
ACP Khan however said, planning for operations pre-during-post elections had begun in November last year noting the need to prepare well in advance to deliver on the organisation's intent of ensuring a safe and conducive environment for the conduct of the Elections.
ACP Khan also acknowledged the Western Division community and the Divisional Community Policing team for the work done in partnership for the renovation works of identified Polling hubs.
He also called on the senior officers and managers in the Western Division to ensure the necessary support was available for officers serving on the frontline, adding the Headquarters Division stood ready to provide support for the smooth conduct of the operations during the Festive season.
ACP Khan being a former Divisional Police Commander West told the officers that the Western Division was a challenging Division to serve in, however thanked the Divisional Police Commander West (DPC/West) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tomu Bulimaibau, the Western Command Group and all officers for their dedication in serving Fijians and visitors to Fiji.
