Northern Division Send off Parade

The Chief Operations Officer (COO) Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abdul Khan has begun his Divisional Send Off Parades ahead of the upcoming demanding operational period.

ACP Khan began the series of send-off parades in the Northern Division attended by the Divisional Police Commander North Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Viliame Soko, members of the Northern Command Group and officers serving in the Division.

The send-off parades follow the DPC’s Operational Readiness Parades conducted earlier to gauge the level of preparedness ahead of the busy operational period, which include coverage of the 2022 National General Elections, Festive Season, Cyclone Season and school holidays.

In addressing officers in the Northern Division, ACP Khan said it was important to continue the momentum of operations in light of what is forecasted to be a busy end of the 2022 year.

With Elections around the corner, officers were reminded to stay focused on the task at hand.

“We are not only looking at the 14th of December, but pre and post election period to ensure we provide the safe and conducive environment for the conduct of the Elections”.

“Let us not involve ourselves in what is happening on the political front, and we must remain apolitical at all times, we are here for all.

Do not deviate from your core roles and responsibilities”.

The Chief Operations Officer reiterated the Commissioner of Police’s support towards ensuring Police officers are able to exercise their right to vote.

“We have identified pre-poll venues where you are registered to vote, and you will be given ample time and opportunity to go and vote”.

“The Commissioner has approved necessary support and means to ensure you are able to vote and we don’t want any of you to say that you were not given any opportunity to vote and who you vote for is your choice”.
