Community Policing in Northern

With a few weeks remaining till we bid farewell to another year, it’s only fitting to reflect and give thanks to what has been achieved throughout the year.

Headed by the Director Community Policing Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana and the Northern Community Policing Division, visitations were conducted in the Northern Division with the Fiji Police Band to acknowledge the support of various community groups, and create awareness on issues of concern that are often reported during the festive season.

SSP Divuana said Policing relies on community partnership and it is only right to give credit where it's due.

“Everyone loves music and similar to sports, it’s a platform that has the power to draw people of all walks of life and that is the intent of this visit, Community policing through music with the Police Band".

“This gives us the ideal platform to say thank you for your partnership, and at the same time issue reminders that while it’s a festive time, we shouldn’t let our guards down and prioritize safety at all times”.

The Community Policing visitations will be conducted in other Divisions in the coming weeks.
