Tikina Meeting

The Eastern Division Community Policing Solesolevaki Operation targeting the Tikina of Wainibuka came to an end yesterday with officers able to hold discussions on reviving crime prevention committees.

Divisional Manager Community Policing East (DMCP East) Superintendent of Police Koro Lesikimaloku said the one week community policing engagement was focused on house to house visitation as a means of allowing people the freedom to discuss things freely.

“We felt that by taking this approach, some issues that may not be raised during large gatherings could be done freely as officers would meet with members of their community on a personal level”.

“Members of the community appreciated the visits and we were able to openly discuss issues impacting their welfare and security”.

Also part of the weeklong engagement were the District officer Nayavu, Assistant Roko.

Tailevu and the Chairman of the Wainibuka Crime Prevention committee.
