A worthy journey

A familiar voice one would hear when calling the Crime Stoppers Fiji line of 919 or 917 Woman Police Constable (WPC) 6752 Rosi Rupi says her years of service in the Fiji Police Force has been a special journey.

“It has been a journey that has been both fulfilling and challenging, I was able to support my family’s various endeavors through my years of service in the Police Force,” WPC Rosi said.

WPC Rosi turned 55years on Friday the 16th of August 2022 thus ending her career as a police officer.

She had joined the Force in 2009 as a special constable, where she had spent her first 4 years of service, in the Tailoring Unit she later transferred to Police Headquarters where she served for another 3 years.

Her remaining 6 years of service in the Force, was spent in the Crime Stoppers Unit.

Earlier this year she was absorbed in to the Regular Constabulary as a Regular Officer.

WPC Rosi while addressing those that attended her retirement party last night, said that her family is grateful to the Fiji Police Force for its contribution to her family’s welfare and growth.

In attendance at constable Rosi’s farewell was the Crime Stoppers National Board Chairman Mr Anit Singh and the Commissioner of Police Personal Staff Officer (PSO) and also Deputy Director International Relations, Superintended of Police (SP) Ilaitia Caginavanua, representing the Commissioner of Police.

Also present were other senior officers in the Police Command Group, including the Director of Police Operations Senior Superintended of Police Kasiano Vusonilawe.

In bidding fare well to WPC Rosi, SP Ilaitia said that though her Police Career has come to an end, she and officers like her, which have retired from their service, still have a lot they can do to support the Fiji Police Force, in strengthening the connections between the Police Force and the various communities they live in.

The Crime Stoppers Board Chairman Mr Singh said the Board will continue to support Police Initiatives like the Crime Stoppers Program, due to the loyalty and dedications of individual officers to keeping Fiji’s Communities safe, like that of WPC Rosi.
