Officers leave for UN MISS TO IRAQ

Two Fijian Police Officers will soon leave Fiji for a tour of mission with the Republic of Fiji Military Forces contingent to the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq.

Sergeant Filipe Baravilala and Corporal Dan Ligairi were farewelled by the Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho, where he reminded them of the importance of maintaining discipline and being good ambassadors of Fiji, the Fiji Police Force and their families.

Brigadier General Qiliho said being away from family and loved ones would be difficult, and assured them of their support and assistance should they require it whilst on tour of duty.

There are currently 27 Police officers serving in various United Nations Missions.
