Narcotics Investigation Course

Another successful week of learning for law enforcement officers from Fiji and the region was achieved thanks to the support of the Joint Interagency Task Force West - JIATF West, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, U.S. Embassy Suva and the Drug Enforcement Administration - DEA Attending the five day Narcotics Investigation Course were 24 officers from the Fiji Police, Fiji Revenue and Customs Service and regional partners from the Vanuatu Mobile Force.

It was a wonderful opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences and learn from their counterparts on new and emerging trends in the illicit drug trade.

With the Pacific region identified as transit points for drug routes, and drug syndicate groups due to our porous borders, ensuring regional participation in such courses is important in achieving a collaborative approach in addressing growing seurity threats.

Aligned to the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police concept of a Pacific response to Pacific security issues,Fiji is looking forward to hosting similar training and educational opportunities for regional security partners to strengthen #Lawenforcement efforts in making our #BluePacific safer.
