Convention on Manipulation of Sports Competitions

Director Legal Senior Superintendent of Police Rajesh Krishna this morning presented the Convention on Manipulation of Sports Competitions to the Parliament Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense.

Parliament Standing Committee Chairperson and Assistant Minister of Health and Medical Services Honorable Alexander O’Connor were briefed on the purpose of the document which is to prevent, detect and sanction national or transnational manipulation of sports competition.

It is also to promote national and international cooperation against manipulation of sports competitions between the public authorities concerned as well as with organizations involved in sports and in sports betting.
