DPO Managers Meeting


Divisional Police Prosecuting Officers (DPO) and Prosecuting Officers (PO) from around Fiji are attending a one day Managers Meeting in Suva today.

The intent of the meeting is to assist the Police Prosecutions Unit identify challenges faced and work on enhancing service delivery in 2022 as well as to map out their strategic plan for the years 2022 to 2025.

In opening the meeting, Chief of Intelligence, Investigations and Prosecutions Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Surend Sami said as Prosecutors they shoulder a lot of responsibility that should never be taken lightly.

“You represent the interests of society at large and victims of crime”.

“As Prosecuting officers you need to be well-versed with the laws in order to remain relevant”.

ACP Sami also reiterated the need to put in place mechanisms that ensure favourable outcomes are achieved.

“You are also training officers because the level of knowledge you have in Prosecutions can assist with enhancing our investigations when you are able to share information on our shortfalls and challenges of cases presented in court”.

Divisional Prosecuting Officers from the North, West, South and East are attending the Managers Meeting in Suva.
