It has been a busy three months period for the Police Special Response Unit (PSRU) and this morning, their Commanding Officer (CO) acknowledged the officers efforts.
PSRU teams were deployed to other parts of the country to assist in the Covid-19 Operations, Drug Operations and the recent Cyclone ops.
CO/PSRU, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Livai Driu said he is honored to be leading a Unit that commits to their everyday work as many had to leave their families behind as they were deployed to other parts of the country.
Despite some of the challenges brought on by Covid-19 affecting officers, SSP Driu said the officers remained loyal and dedicated to their oath to serve.
"When you were medically cleared, you continued to work tirelessly as if nothing had happen.
During the peak of Cyclone Cody, our rescue efforts were notable and these are just a few moments that makes mebproud to be your Commanding Officer.”
SSP Driu reminded his team that one of their main focus this year will be the next General Elections.
