PICP Strategic Plan launched


The Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police [PICP] five-year Strategic Plan was launched in Suva this morning officiated by the Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Itendra Nair on behalf of the newly appointed PICP Chairman and the Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu.

The Strategic Plan maps out the five year institutional plan with a mission of Uniting Pacific Leadership to Build Highly Capable Policing together with a vision of Our Blue Pacific: Safer Together.

This official launch was conducted virtually due to the impact of COVID -19 and was witnessed by the PICP Secretariat from Wellington and members of the diplomatic corps in Suva.

The Acting Deputy Commissioner said unity and collaboration will be key to ensuring the proud 50year PICP legacy of building a safer and secure Pacific region lives on.

β€œIt can be done, and we will achieve the vision of – our blue Pacific – safer together.

"The onus is on us as leaders to unite and ensure this document is translated into specific operational work plans to assist Pacific Police services to create a safer, secure and peaceful environment for social as well as economic development of the Pacific region.”

Also present this morning were representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, PICP member countries that are represented here in Fiji including donor and community partners.

The Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police also thanked the PICP Secretariat for their efforts in putting together the 5 year Strategic Plan.
