SENIOR APPOINTMENT MADE
In a bid to maintain the momentum of operations, new appointments and changes have taken place amongst the senior hierarchy of the Fiji Police Force.
Appointed the Acting Deputy Commissioner is Itendra Nair who previously held the Chief of Administration Officers Post.
FormerDirector Corporate Services Juki Chew Fong has been appointed the Acting Chief Administration Officer.
Other appointments made at the AssistantCommissioner level include, the confirmation of Chief Operations Officer Abdul Khan and the appointment of Assistant Commissioner of Police Isei Vueti as theChief of Policy and Projects.
Remaining at the post of Chief of Intelligence,Investigation and Prosecution is Assistant Commissioner of Police Biu Matavou whereas Assistant Commissioner of Police Luke Navela continues in his role as the Chief of Planning and Internal Affairs Officer.
Confirmations of rank and posts were also made at the Director and Divisional Police Commander levels.
The Acting Commissioner of Police RusiateTudravu has acknowledged Government’s support in recognizing and having confidence in his ability to continue the work left behind by the Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho adding service delivery will be akey priority for the institution.
“The Commissioner of Police has set a solid foundation for us to continue the momentum of operations in line with his intent of improving service delivery”.
“My focus is getting back to basics and improving our internal process so that we are able to effectively serve the people of Fiji".
Acting Commissioner Tudravu says improving internal processes and procedures should result in improving service delivery.
“Concerns and frustrations raised by members ofthe public when they complain about lack of feedback, late or non-attendance tocomplaints, conduct of Police officers, lack of transport are all linked tohuman factors and that’s what we need to focus on”.
“Government has been supportive of our needs for resources, and that’s why we need to address the human factors of our services, and we will treat complaints against Police and against services seriously and officers will be put through our internal disciplinary processes if they fail to conduct their duties effectively”.
