31st July
Eight people were arrested in the last 24hours for breaching curfew restrictions.
Of that number four cases were recorded in the Southern Division while the remaining four were from the Central Division.
In the Central Division, two of those arrested were a 26year old lawyer and a 26- year -old Accountant.
Both were found drunk and traveling in a taxi without any valid reason, while the other two cases involved a woman and a man in their 20's who were found loitering along Ellery street in Suva.
The four arrests made in the Southern Division involved a 19- year old woman who was found walking around in Kinoy while three men in their 20s were found loitering in Makoi.
We are again urging all Fijians that if you have plans for a get together this weekend - plan your activities well so that you are not caught out during curfew hours.
The excessive consumption of alcohol has been linked to arrests made during curfew hours simply because those arrested were too intoxicated to realize what they were doing and where they were during the time of arrest.
We urge everyone to please drink responsibly and avoid being caught out during curfew hours - and understand that you must remain where you are at 11pm and only leave the next morning from 4am.
