PICP met with Director International Relations SSP Ulaiasi Ravula


The Pacific Island Chiefs of Police (PICP) Regional Women Advisory Network (WAN) Chair Ms Vaivasa Wells paid a courtesy call to the Commissioner of Police and met with the Director International Relations SSP Ulaiasi Ravula.

Ms Wells will be presenting at the Oceania Customs Organisation meeting in Nadi next week with Deputy Chair Fiji's Assistant Superintendent of Police Ruci Nasemira to share how the PICP WAN Regional group has been able to support and enhance the contributions of women in policing within the Pacific region.

The primary objective of the WAN Regional group is to advise the PICP on issues affecting women in Pacific Policing, share knowledge, promote good practice and support women in policing and ddvocate for domestic action to promote gender equality.

The PICP WAN was established in 2003 following recommendations made at the Australasian Council of Women in Policing (ACWAP) Conference, and comprises of all 21 PICP countries.
