Two men charged for giving false information

Two men will be appearing at the Sigatoka Magistrate Court today for Giving False Information to public servant Contrary to section 201(a) of the Crimes Act 2009. 

On 18th July, 2025 around midday, a 18-year-old man of Kulukulu reported that a 26-year-old man of the same settlement has been killed by three men. 

Upon arrival at the scene, Police saw that the 26-year-old self-employed man was alive with visible injuries on his back and neck. 

He was taken to hospital for examination. 

The 18-year-old waitress of Kulukulu had informed Police Officers that the three masked men had also tried to kill him. 

The report was believed to be suspicious and after further questioning, he admitted that the report that he lodged was false. 

He admitted that they had conspired to make a false report.  

On Monday evening, the 26-year-old was discharged from Sigatoka hospital and was brought in under arrest for questioning. 

The two will be appearing at the Sigatoka Magistrate Court later today.
