28-year-old Mechanic of Korowiri, Labasa has been charged for scam

A 28-year-old Mechanic of Korowiri, Labasa has been charged for count of Obtaining Financial Advantage.

It is believed that in September 2023, the accused obtained $216.00 from the victim through the Mobile Money Transfer platform.

Investigation revealed that victim mobile money transfer account was hacked by giving away her OTP code. 

Victim then noticed that $216.00 was then later sent to accused number without her knowledge.

The matter was then reported by the victim at Nabua Police Station.

The accused was charged and will be produced at Labasa Magistrate Court later today.
