ARRESTS

A 22 year old man residing in Wailekutu, Lami was arrested for his alleged involvement in a case of theft in Domain, Suva on Saturday.

The suspect with two others allegedly stole items belonging to a woman in her 40s on Saturday morning while she was walking with her daughter.

Items stolen include mobile phone and a bag containing cash and personal items.

The suspect was arrested and the search continues for the other two suspects.

Meanwhile in a separate incident which occurred in Bayview Heights last week of a similar grab and run incident which was captured on CCTV, no official report was received however we are working with the Bayview Community Crime Prevention Group to gather more details about the incident that could help us identify the victim's and suspect.

We commend the efforts by the Bayview Heights community to set up their own Crime Watch committee and Police continue to liaise with its members to assist in its crime prevention efforts.
