Video Recorded Interview Training


A Video Recorded Interview Training for officers based at the Border Police Station was conducted last week, reflecting the Fiji Police Force’s commitment in upholding the highest standards in criminal investigations.

The training is also boosts the organisation’s dedication to justice, transparency and the protection of fundamental rights aligned with modern policing best practices, where accuracy, accountability, and fairness are paramount.

VRI rooms have been established at the Nadi, Namaka, Ba, Sigatoka, Lautoka and Rakiraki Police Stations with Border Police the latest to receive it’s Portable VRI equipment.

The Divisional Crime Officer Western, Superintendent of Police (SP) Suliasi Ratu said, “A well-documented interview provides critical leads, ensures consistency in statements, and allows for a more structured approach in handling cases. It fosters greater efficiency in our work while reinforcing public confidence in our ability to conduct fair and thorough investigations.”

The Portable Video-Recorded Interview training and provision of equipment is facilitated through the Fiji Police Partnership Programme (FPPP) supported by New Zealand High Commission, Suva, Fiji.
